Public forum on school safety scheduled at Camden Hills Regional High School
In the wake of the tragic death of school students and staff in Parkland, Florida, the Five Town CSD and School Administrative District 28 Superintendent Maria Libby, along with local law enforcement, are hosting a panel discussion about school safety.
The School Safety Forum will be held Thursday, March 8, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Strom Auditorium at Camden Hills Regional High School.
Parents and the public are invited. The moderator will be Knox County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Tim Carroll.
The panel will consist of
Randy Gagne, Camden-Rockport Police Chief
Chris Farley, Camden Fire Chief
Jason Peasley, Rockport Fire Chief
Maria Libby, Superintendent
Shawn Carlson, Principal of Camden Hills Regional High School
Jaime Stone, Principal of Camden-Rockport Middle School
Chris Walker-Spencer, Principal of Camden-Rockport Elementary School
Share concerns and suggestions while learning more about safety in the schools.
Libby said the forum is being presented to address heightened concerns parents have raised in the aftermath of the tragedy.
“I wanted parents to have an opportunity for their concerns to be heard and for them to learn more about what is in place at the schools,” she said. “I invited local law enforcement because they are also an important part of our safety and security at school.”
