Propagating perennials outdoor workshop at Merryspring

Event has passed

CAMDEN — Merryspring Nature Center will host an outdoor workshop on propagating perennials by division and other methods on Saturday, June 13, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Gardener John Fromer teaches this hands-on workshop of different propagation methods, including divisions. The course will also discuss how to successfully transplant perennials and spring garden renovation methods related to transplanting and dividing plants. All guests may be able to take selected divisions home from the Merryspring gardens. Trays and materials will be provided.

Fromer has been a Maine Master Gardener since 1998 and runs Appleton Ridge Flower and Vegetable Farm with his wife, Kathy, also a Maine Master Gardener. Together they grow flowers, vegetables, and herbs in a sustainable and authentic fashion.

This program is part of the Weekend Workshop series at Merryspring. Due to the on-going pandemic, this class will take place exclusively outside. Guests are asked to wear face coverings and weather-appropriate clothing.

The cost of this program is $30, with a discounted rate of $25.

To sign up guests MUST pre-register and pay by 6/12 by contacting info@merryspring.org or 207-236-2239. Limited space is available.
