Prenatal yoga series in Rockland
ROCKLAND — Prenatal Yoga will be offered Saturdays, April 6 to June 29, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, at The Dancing Elephant, in Rockland.
The class, which will be taught by yoga instructor Erin Grade, is by donation and open to pregnant women. Registration is appreciated; drop-ins are also welcome.
Each Prenatal Yoga class will integrate breathing techniques, warm-ups, core strengthening postures, relaxation, and meditation to support pregnant women.
The benefits of prenatal yoga include stress relief, reduced nausea, reduced inflammation, increased stamina and strength, as well as increased bonding and compassion, according to The Dancing Elephant, in a news release.
No previous yoga experience is necessary.
Erin Grade began practicing mindfulness and yoga in 2007. She studied at the ShivaShakti School of Yoga and Healing Arts, completing her 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2014.
Since becoming a mother, Grade has been motivated to help other women relax into the many changes of pregnancy, to find empowerment and be trusting of their own bodies.
The Dancing Elephant is a community center for yoga, meditation, and art located in downtown Rockland. All programs are donation-based and available for all levels.
