a conversation exploring the intricacies of bird songs

POSTPONED Birds, Songs, and Flowers with Naturalist Gary Roberts at Merryspring

Event has passed

CAMDEN — Because of the large crowds and close proximity of the Tuesday Talk audience, Merryspring has decided that the next four Tuesday Talk dates (March 17, March 24, March 31, April 7) will be postponed and rescheduled for later this year. It is our hope that these programs will take place later in the fall.

Naturalist Gary Roberts will lead a presentation titled “Birds, Songs, and Flowers” Tuesday, March 24, at 12 p.m., at Merryspring Nature Center.

Guests are invited to join Roberts for a conversation exploring the intricacies of bird songs, including how to identify species by song and habitat. A focus will be given on how native plants and flowers can be good indicators of nearby bird species.

Roberts volunteered as a naturalist at Maine Audubon for more than 30 years and is a Registered Maine Guide. He has been a plant conservation volunteer, an owl survey volunteer, a mountain bird watch volunteer, and is a life-member and past board member of the Maine Wilderness Guides Organization.

This lecture is part of the Winter Talk series at Merryspring, sponsored by Allen Insurance and Financial.

Admission to Tuesday talks is $5, with free admission for members of Merryspring

Merryspring is a community nature center offering walking trails, cultivated gardens, wildlife, and ecology and horticulture educational programs all year round.

The park is located at the end of Conway Road, just off of Route 1 in Camden behind Hannaford Shopping Plaza.
