ROCKLAND — Thomaston’s Pope Memorial Humane Society will receive donations totaling $261 raised in conjunction with two recent screenings of Cat Video Fest 2020 presented by the Strand Theatre, in Rockland.

Each year, Cat Video Fest curates a compilation reel of the latest, best cat videos; screening events take place all over the world and raise money for cats in need, often through partnerships with local cat shelters or animal welfare organizations.

"We are so grateful to the Strand for choosing Pope Memorial Humane Society as their Cat Video Fest 2020 partner,” said Pope Community Engagement Coordinator Kasey Bielecki, in a news release. “The funds raised will go directly to providing food, shelter and medical care for local homeless animals in our care at PMHS. Thank you to the Strand and the community for supporting our mission to care for and place unwanted and abandoned animals in loving homes, and promote responsible pet ownership and humane treatment of all animals. Together we are making a difference!"
