CAMDEN — Gardener John Fromer will lead a program about perennial garden design on Tuesday, July 14 at 12, p.m., at Merryspring Nature Center.
In this class, Fromer will teach gardeners different design methods for a variety of gardens. He will speak about the importance of knowing the garden environment and soil conditions, and how to consider garden progress from either scratch or a redesign.
He will also describe selecting and sorting the right plants for season-long blooms and anticipating growth.
Fromer has been a Maine Master Gardener since 1998 and runs Appleton Ridge Flower and Vegetable Farm with his wife, Kathy, also a Maine Master Gardener. Together they grow flowers, vegetables, and herbs in a sustainable and authentic fashion.
This event is part of the Summer Talk series, sponsored by First National Bank. Please note that due to the on-going pandemic guests must take safety seriously during this program, and are advised to wear face masks. Seating for this event will be outdoors in chairs set-up a safe distance apart. This event is subject to change due to state and local regulations.
