BELFAST — The Peace and Justice Group of Waldo County will hold its Solstice celebration and potluck, Wednesday, Dec. 18 at, 5:30 p.m., in the Abbott Room, Belfast Free Library.

All are invited to bring a dish to share or come join the group for food and an uplifting film, The Biggest Little Farm at 6:15 pm.

This breathtaking film chronicles the 8-year quest of John and Molly Chester as they trade city living for 200 acres of barren land north of Los Angeles to make their dream to harvest in harmony with nature, a reality. Through dogged perseverance and embracing the opportunity provided by nature’s conflicts, the Chesters uncover a biodiverse design for living that exists far beyond their farm, its seasons, and people’s wildest imaginings.

“This movie holds an urgent message to heed Mother Nature's call to provide us with a vital blueprint for better living and a healthier planet,” said Peace and Justice, in a news release.

The film is free, appropriate for all ages, and open to all.

“Join us to celebrate the returning light and the success that perseverance can bring!” said the group.
