CAMDEN — PAWS Animal Adoption Center is getting ready for its largest annual fundraiser, the PAWS Auction for the Animals, with a new twist this year. In addition to its online auction and 50/50 Raffle for the Animals, PAWS will be hosting a holiday Tinsel & Tails gala and silent auction.
PAWS has continued to take in hundreds of displaced dogs and cats while adding new services to support families struggling with hospitalization, domestic violence, job loss, and other negative effects of the pandemic.
"We will always be there for our community," said PAWS Executive Director, Shelly Butler, in a news release. "But we can't do it without their support. Our Auction for the Animals is by far the most important fundraiser of the year for our shelter. We raise about $65,000 each year with this fundraiser. The impact an event like this has on our ability to provide care and support the animals we serve is immense."
Ways to support PAWS Animal Adoption Center during this year's Auction for the Animals include:
Auction for the Animals Online (Nov. 26 - Dec. 10): Hundreds of items from local businesses will be up for bid online and will include bidding packages for both large and small budgets. Whether it is a 2-night stay in an Executive Suite overlooking the harbor that you are after or a gift card to your loved one’s favorite local store for their stocking, the PAWS online Auction for the Animals has something for everyone.
50/50 Raffle for the Animals (Nov. 10 - Dec. 10): PAWS will be selling raffle tickets online with one lucky winner walking away with a jackpot worth 50% of the ticket sales. Last year’s lucky winner won $4,000 for their holiday spending.
Tinsel & Tails Holiday Gala & Silent Auction (Dec. 10): Join PAWS at High Mountain Hall in Camden on Friday, December 10, at 5:30 p.m., for an evening of holiday fun to celebrate with friends. This year’s event offers complimentary wine, heavy appetizers, live music, holiday-themed games, the fund-a-cause presentation, and a silent auction with items exclusive to this event. Tickets are $50 and limited to just 45 individuals, so be sure to purchase them before they sell out.

All net proceeds benefit the animals at PAWS, providing food, shelter, community support services, preventative care, adoption, and in many cases, life-saving veterinary care and most importantly, love.
Established in 1974, the mission of PAWS Animal Adoption Center is to provide care for homeless dogs and cats until they can be placed in permanent, responsible homes while promoting humane values in our community through outreach and educational programs.
