OWLS HEAD — Entering its third season, the Owls Head Village Library Garden Gatherings summer speaker series will feature well-known Maine-based artists, authors, historians and museum executives.

Sunday, June 18 will feature Jim Nickelson, from Camden, a fine art photographer, custom digital printer, bookmaker and teacher whose work has been widely exhibited throughout New England. On July 16, Farnsworth Art Museum curator Jane Bianco will be the featured speaker.

On September 17, Jim Parmentier of Maine’s First Ship will tell the story of the Popham Beach colony (1607) and the reconstruction of Maine’s first ship, the Virginia, originally built by settlers in 1608.

All events are scheduled for Sunday afternoons at 3:30 p.m.

“Our Garden Gatherings have been a great opportunity to bring our community together,” said Diane Nelson, president of the Library Board. “This year should prove successful once again, and we are excited to bring summer educational programs to Owls Head.
