CAMDEN — Join the members and friends of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Camden on August 25, at 9:30 a.m., for an outdoor worship service at Merryspring Nature Center, located at 30 Conway Road in Camden.
The congregation will explore and celebrate Wonder and Amazement through poetry (including works by Mary Oliver and Wendell Berry), scripture, prayer, and song in this beautiful natural setting. They will also create their own altar of amazement.
Bring along a symbol that represents the amazing beauty of creation for you, from toys to shells to paintings.
“Of course, precious items will return home with you,” said First Congregational, in a news release.
All are invited for fellowship following the service.
Due to limited parking at Merryspring, all are invited to gather for car-pooling in the church parking lot at 55 Elm Street in Camden at 9 a.m.
Boy Scouts from Troop 200 will escort anyone to their seat who might need assistance. Seating will be provided, though you are welcome to bring your own folding chair. As the grass may be damp, consider appropriate foot wear.
Should there be rain in the forecast, call the church at 236-4821 for a recorded announcement after 5 p.m. on Saturday. If need be, the service will be relocated to the church at 55 Elm Street at 9:30 a.m.
All are welcome.
