ROCKLAND — One Less Worry will celebrate its 5th birthday with a celebration, Sunday, April 25, from 1 to 3 p.m., at Rockland’s Chapman Park, at the corner of Main and Park Streets. The Period Friendly Birthday Bash will recognize 1,750 days of providing pads, tampons, and toilet paper to Knox County folks who need them. The event also encourages period normalization.
There will be free access to pads, tampons, and menstrual cups. Attendees have an opportunity to write postcards to their legislators in support of several pending period friendly bills. There will be a tampon packing table where attendees can assemble packages that will be given to area menstruators in need.
Materials will also be available for poster making.
One Less Worry has distributed nearly 250,000 pads and tampons in the last five years. In 2020 they donated over 350 miles of toilet paper. These essentials are dispensed to 23 partner nonprofits ranging from schools to food pantries and more.
