Varsity Boys Soccer: Brunswick 3, Camden Hills 2 (OT)
(By Ryan Hurley)

The Dragons continued their much improved play reeling off their seventh straight win in KVAC Class A action Tuesday afternoon.

Henry Doherty struck first for the visitors heading home a corner kick just three minutes into the game. Camden Hills responded well when Michael Blackwell sent a beautiful ball to Ben Owre and Owre, after beating a defender, thumped a ball into the back corner of the net from the top of the penalty area.

The 'Jammers would keep up the pressure and at the 24 minute mark Bryce Tyler would take a ball out of the air and volley it home for the 2-1 lead.

In the second half, senior Dragon captain Doherty would strike again, collecting a loose ball at the top of the 18 and slipping it into the back left corner to equalize.

Brunswick would carry the momentum into the first overtime where they struck a long through ball on a well timed run and were able to beat the Camden Hills defense for the Golden Goal victory.

Brunswick Keeper Jake Hummer made 12 saves on 15 'Jammer shots, Lucas Boetsch made three saves on six Brunswick shots.

Camden Hills held a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks in the contest.

We had some bright moments today. Brunswick is riding a hot streak and they were well prepared to play. The boys gave it their all but in the end I think we were undone as much by playing four hard games, and two overtimes, in the last eight days as we were by any other factors. We'll take a day off and get ready to play a tough Hampden team at home on Senior Day Friday. The boys will bounce back and we are right where we want to be heading into the playoffs.
