BOOTHBAY HARBOR — The ninth annual Lobster Jam hosted by the Boothbay Region High School’s girls basketball team rolls in this weekend, July 26-27, and two local squads will be participating.
Both the Oceanside and Medomak Valley girls basketball teams will be participating in the event being held at Boothbay Region High School and Boothbay Region Elementary School.
Three teams in the event are defending state champions: Oxford Hills (Class AA), Greeley (Class A) and Boothbay (Class C).
The tournament tips off at 12:30 p.m. with pool play featuring Gardiner versus Oceanside at the high school and Winslow versus Medomak Valley at the elementary school.

Each school plays three games within their pool and the top team advances to the semifinals.
In the event of a tie in pool play, pool winners will be determined by the head-to-head games.

vs. Gardiner — July 26, 12:30 p.m., High School
vs. Boothbay — July 27, 2:30 p.m., High School
vs. Lewiston — July 27, 5:30 p.m., Elementary School
Medomak Valley’s Schedule
vs. Winslow — July 26, 12:30 p.m., Elementary School
vs. Oxford Hills — July 26, 6:30 p.m., High School
vs. Mattanawcook Academy — July 27, 1 p.m., Elementary School
On Saturday, the Lobster Jam semifinals will feature Pool A’s winner versus Pool B’s winner at 7 p.m. at the high school, while the Pool C and D winners meet at 7 p.m. in the elementary school gym at the same time.
The championship game follows at 8:30 p.m. at the high school.
