READFIELD — The Oceanside varsity field hockey team hit the road Monday, Oct. 1 to challenge Maranacook in Readfield. 

The visiting Mariners were shutout in the contest 2-0.

Thus, Oceanside’s record dropped to 2-8 for the season. 

Scoring for Maranacook was Abbie Jaques, who netted both goals unassisted. 

Maranacook recorded seven corners, while Oceanside had 11. 

Oceanside had eight shots, compared to Marancook’s seven. 

Alyssa Pratt tallied six saves in the goalie net for Maranacook, while Alexa Barstow recorded five for Oceanside. 

The next match for Oceanside will be Tuesday, Oct. 8 when the Mariners host Camden Hills (1-7-1) at 3:30 p.m.
