PITTSFIELD and SOUTH CHINA — The Oceanside field hockey team hit the road on Thursday, Sept. 20 and Saturday, Sept. 22 where the Mariners were blanked a combined 12-0. 

With the pair of losses, the Mariners fall to 1-7 on the season. Next up for the Mariners will be a home contest on Tuesday, Sept. 25 against Brewer with a start time of 4 p.m.

On Thursday, the Mariners were blanked by Maine Central Institute 10-0. Stats from the contest were not available. 

On Saturday, Oceanside was shutout by Erskine Academy 2-0.  

In the first half on Saturday, Mya Maxim scored at the 16:41 mark. Ashley Clavette scored at the 21:51 mark of the second half. 

Oceanside had 11 corners compared to Erskine’s five. Oceanside out-shot Erskine 7-6. In the goalie net, Oceanside’s Makaila Hickey had four saves compared to Erskine’s Lucy Allen who had seven.
