Oceanside 8th girls basketball collects season opening victory over Camden-Rockport

CAMDEN — The Oceanside and Camden-Rockport eighth grade girls basketball teams met on the court in Camden for a season opening showdown Tuesday, Nov. 26. 

Oceanside held quarterly advantages of 15-6, 33-12 and 43-16 en route to a 60-22 victory. 
 
“The girls played strong team defense including a full court hustle block by Caitlyn Lamb on a [Camden-Rockport] break away,” said Oceanside coach Dan McNichol of his team. “The girls were very unselfish on offense with the ball.” 
 

Scoring for Oceanside were J. Barnard (two points), S. Daggett (18), S. Vose (10), H. Erickson (six) and G. Webber (four). 

Scoring for Camden-Rockport were A. Johnson (four points), B. Mackey (10), L. Martin (six) and K. Peterson (two). 

Oceanside will look to keep its win streak alive with a road contest Monday, Dec. 2 against Hope. 

Camden-Rockport will seek its first victory Monday, Dec. 2 in a road contest against Appleton.
