CAMDEN — Initially scheduled as an outdoor concert in the Camden Amphitheatre, organizers watching the weather have decided to move the free New Shades of Blue concert inside. The performance will now take place Wednesday, August 30, at 4:30 p.m., in the Picker Room of the Camden Public Library.
“Escape the rain and join this New England trio for an eclectic mix of old-time jazz favorites, blues, reggae, and originals,” said CPL, in a news release.
The core of the band is Juliane Gardner, the lead vocalist; Christopher Poulin on lead vocals, guitar, and flute; and Ezra Rugg on bass.
Gardner, Poulin, and Rugg began playing together in college when they met as students in a Jazz and Contemporary Music Program. They continued to perform together in various groups until the band was formed in its present configuration. Since then, New Shades of Blue has enjoyed a playing schedule up and down the coast of Maine and New England.
