New Hampshire fugitive apprehended in Washington DOT garage

    WASHINGTON - In cooperation with New Hampshire State Police, Knox County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested a fugitive from justice today in Washington.

    Brian Bateman, 32, of Epping, New Hampshire was arrested by Deputy Pinkham and Davis just after 7:30 a.m. Friday, January 11 at the Maine DOT garage in Washington, according to a press release from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. 

    On Thursday, January 10 a law enforcement notice was sent to all agencies thru the Maine Information and Analysis Center (MIAC) that Mr. Bateman was on home confinement in New Hampshire and had cut his monitoring device off and escaped. We were also notified that Bateman may be armed and should be considered dangerous, according to the release. 

    The release explains that on Friday morning, Knox County Regional Communications Center received information from New Hampshire State Police that Bateman may be at the aforementioned location in a truck that was out of gas.

    Knox County Deputies responded and without incident took Bateman into custody, according to the release.

    Also arrested was a female, Shawn J. Albee, 26, of Barrington, New Hampshire and charged with Hindering Apprehension of a Fugitive.

    More charges may be forthcoming pending further investigation.

    Both individuals will remain at Knox County Jail until court processes occur.
