CAMDEN — Coastal Mountains Nature Program presents What’s So Special About Fields? on Saturday, July 13, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Head of Tide Preserve, in Belfast.
Aaron Megquier, botanist and executive director of Friends of Baxter State Park, and Maine Master Naturalist Roger Rittmaster will co-lead a walk focusing on the interplay of forests and fields and the complex web of life that inhabits this ecosystem.
Meet in the Head of Tide Preserve’s parking lot at 85 Doak Road in Belfast.
The Coastal Mountains Nature Program is co-hosted by Coastal Mountains Land Trust and the Town of Camden Conservation Commission.
This program hosts walks and talks exploring the natural history of Midcoast Maine to educate the public about environment issues and increase opportunities for residents to explore the outdoors.
Coastal Mountains Land Trust has worked since 1986 to permanently conserve land to benefit the natural and human communities of the western Penobscot Bay.
The Land Trust has protected more than 12,000 acres to date, offering 45 miles of trails for public access.
