Monroe Community Library Holiday Fair

MONROE — The Monroe Community Library is holding a two-day sale of holiday décor, ornaments, books, and collectibles to benefit the Library.

The sale will be held Friday, Nov. 4, from 4 - 7 p.m.; and Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

“Donated by a friend with an eye for beauty and a special love of Christmas and the arts, the sale includes ornaments by Lenox, Hummel, and Danforth Pewter; wood, ceramic, and brass decorations; and a selection of cooking, travel, holiday and children’s books, many currently out-of-print,” said the Library, in a news release.

Among the sale’s highlights are a Thomas Kinkade music box, Annalee elves and dolls, Hallmark Keepsake ornaments, and so much more.

For Broadway and musical theater buffs, the sale includes a trove of collectible books, CDs, and DVDs featuring Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Liza Minelli, and Judy Garland, plus Dylan, Lennon, Baez and more. A very special item is a signed first edition of Fred Astaire’s autobiography, Steps in Time.

“This is a sale you won’t want to miss, whether you’re a collector or you simply enjoy making your home festive for the holidays,” said MCL. “Treat yourself and find unique gifts for holiday giving. There are many price points, so everyone will go home with a treasure!”

Homemade baked goods and a children’s craft table will be part of Saturday’s festivities.

The event is accepting cash and check only. The library is not able to accept credit cards.
