ROCKLAND — One person was transported to Pen Bay Medical Center with minor injuries after a collision between a Jeep Wrangler and a pickup truck at the Route 1 and Pleasant Street intersection, in Rockland, Tuesday morning, April 7.

For about half an hour following the 7:35 a.m., crash, Route 1 traffic detoured through a business parking lot along Route 1, in Rockland, as Rockland police, along with Fire and EMS, tended to the scene. They were assisted by a Public Works Department member, who directed northbound traffic.

The crash produced minor damage, yet the force still caused the Wrangler to come to a halt perpendicular within the southbound lane, with its rear bumper against the guardrail. At the same time, the pickup truck came to a halt in a parking area on the other side of the intersection.

When EMS first arrived on scene, they wore hospital masks as a precaution against any symptoms of illness that the occupants of the vehicles may have been exhibiting. Once the scene was determined medically safe, some personnel removed their masks.

Best Rates Towing took the Wrangler from the scene.
