Mindfulness in Education talk: The body’s response to anger

ROCKLAND —  On Thursday, Dec. 5, from 6 - 8 p.m., Kellie and Hannah Bailey will give a public talk entitled “Mindfulness in Education” at The Dancing Elephant, in Rockland. The program is part of the First Thursday Dharma Talk Series, and it is open to the community by donation. Tea and refreshments will be served. 

The evening will include meditation practice, a talk, and conversation about mindfulness in education. Mother-daughter team Kellie and Hannah Bailey will share about the physiology of the human heart, body, and brain when we Flip Our Lids and Lose Our Cool.

Participants will explore mindfulness tools to build social emotional development skills in self-awareness and self-management.

Signed copies of Kellie and Hannah’s book Some Days I Flip My Lid will be available for purchase.

Kellie Bailey, MA is a licensed speech language pathologist and a certified mindfulness meditation teacher with more than 28 years of background in pediatric assessment and intervention. She works with children of all ages to teach them about the super power of mindfulness to be a Calm Cool Kid. She earned her Master of Arts in communication sciences and disorders from The University of Maine in Orono, Maine.

Hannah Bailey, BA is an art educator.

The Dancing Elephant is a community center for yoga, meditation, and art located in downtown Rockland. All programs are donation-based and available for all levels.
