ROCKLAND — Midcoast Women kicks off the 2021-2022 season with a two-part series, "Maine Women @ Work," a focus on the rural jobscape with its many challenges and opportunities
Part One: Community Screening of 9 to 5, Tuesday, October 10, from 1 - 4 p.m., at the Strand Theatre, in Rockland.
Please join Midcoast Women for a complimentary screening of 9 to 5, the groundbreaking 1980 film starring Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Dolly Parton. Cheer on their hilarious antics as they confront the male dominated workforce that discriminated (and often still discriminates) against women. The Rockland Strand will host this event.
A short program before the film begins a discussion about the ongoing evolution of the workplace. Moderated by Destie Hohman of the Maine Women’s Lobby, the panel includes Maine House Representatives Valli Geiger and Holly Stover, authors of legislation that address the unique issues of Maine women.
A reception follows to continue the conversation.
Seating is limited. Registration suggested for priority seating. FMI and registration: midcoastwomen.org.
