ROCKLAND — Midcoast Weavers Guild will once again be demonstrating the art and craft of weaving, Thursday, July 7, from 9 - 1 p.m., at the Rockland Farmers' Market, at Harbor Park. (Rain date July 14.)

A four-harness floor loom will be set up for visitors to try their hand at traditional hand weaving. Demonstrations will include weaving on a rigid heddle loom, a tapestry loom (9 - 11 a.m.), an inkle loom, and tablet or band weaving on a backstrap loom (11 a.m. – 1 p.m.) and more.

On display will be various small looms and tools of the trade as well as a wide variety of handwoven articles made by our guild members (no sales.)

“Whether you are just interested in looking at hand woven articles, are interested in learning how fabric is made, or already are a weaver and want to stop by to chat, we hope you will visit us at the Rockland Farmers Market,” said the Guild, in a news release.

Midcoast Weavers Guild is committed to increasing our knowledge of weaving and sharing our love of the craft with our community.
