On Sunday, September 19, Midcoast Conservancy will hold the ninth annual Live Edge music festival at Hidden Valley Nature Center, in Jefferson. Four music acts, local food from the OG Hootenanny Pizza Guys and Pinnacle Grill, and Maine beer will be part of the fun-filled day set amid HVNC’s 1,000 acres in Jefferson.
This year’s musical line-up includes Primo Cubano, 12/OC, the Jamie Saft New Zion Trio and duo Katie Daggett and Ed DesJardins. Gates will open at 11:30 a.m.; the music will run until 6 p.m.
After years of supporting Live Edge by honoring the $20 vouchers that come with advance tickets, the loyal restaurant friends of the event will this year be reimbursed for the vouchers, thanks to Midcoast Conservancy Giving Back made possible by the very generous support of sponsors Cribstone Capital, Ames True Value and Mexicali Blues.
With a voucher, ticket holders will have a delicious array of choices. In the Damariscotta area, hyper-local food on the water at The River Grill, classic pub fare at the Newcastle Publick House, Maine-inspired cuisine at the Damariscotta River Grill or innovative comfort food at Savory Maine are great options. Montsweag Farm in Wiscasset serves farm fresh fare to the south; in Rockland, Ada’s Kitchen puts an original twist on its Italian offerings.
In Gardiner, homemade Mexican classics from El Oso and stellar diner eats from A1 Diner will make for happy bellies! Hallowell is home to two supporters: Slates Restaurant and Bakery, where savory and sweet treats are on the menu; and Liberal Cup, offering craft beer and the perfect food to go with it. Cloud 9 serves “fun creative cuisine” at the Senator Inn & Spa in Augusta.
The challenge of a Live Edge Music Festival ticket is deciding where to eat! The easy part is knowing that the $20 ticket pays for itself when the holder uses a voucher, and that Midcoast Conservancy’s restaurant friends will be reimbursed for all vouchers they honor. To get tickets online, go to https://bit.ly/liveedgemusic; in-person purchase is available at Mexicali Blues, Sheepscot General Store and the Alna General Store.
Proceeds from Live Edge support Midcoast Conservancy, an innovative conservation organization whose mission is to protect and restore vital lands and waters on a scale that matters. For more information, go to www.midcoastconservancy.org, www.facebook/midcoastconservancy.org or call (207) 389-5150.
