ROCKPORT — United Midcoast Charities (UMC) will reveal its 2019 grant award recipients at its Community Celebration, Thursday, September 19, at the Samoset Resort.
Representatives from dozens of local organizations receiving 2019 UMC grants will be present and the public is invited to join the grantees, from 5 - 7:30 p.m., to celebrate their tireless work in the community.
The evening will include a hosted bar, heavy appetizers, the presentation of grants and premier of a short video about the grant recipients, followed by music from The Right Track. The Unsung Hero award for community volunteer of the year will also be announced during the event.
“We invite everyone to join us to learn more about the nonprofit organizations supported by our generous donors and to celebrate the great work being done in our communities to fight poverty,” said UMC Executive Director Megan Williams, in a news release. “This is an opportunity to meet the hardworking staff and volunteers providing essential services to our neighbors, to support UMC and simply have a good time together.”
Tickets are available for $30 in advance on the events page at unitedmidcoastcharities.org, through any UMC Board Member or by calling 207-236-2299. If space allows, tickets will be available at the door via cash or check. This event is made possible by sponsors like Bangor Savings Bank, Grasshopper Shop of Rockland, LCI, the event committee and more.
