Midcoast Babe Ruth June 20 games postponed, league not fielding all-star teams

Thu, 06/20/2019 - 1:15pm

In a Thursday afternoon email, Midcoast Babe Ruth Baseball League president Don Shields announced the four games set for today, June 20, have been postponed.

The Newcastle vs. Rockland Ford game has been postponed to June 24 at 5:30 p.m.

The Damariscotta Lions vs. Tidewater Oil game has been postponed to June 29 at 1 p.m.

The Granite Coast Orthodontics vs. Waldoboro has been postponed to June 22 at 4 p.m.

The PG Willey vs. Union Farm Equipment game has been postponed to June 24 at 5:30 p.m.

Additionally, the league announced it will not be participating in the state all-star tournament this summer.

“A change in format coupled with an earlier commitment date led us to a league wide survey and we determined that we just did not have enough boys from the 8 teams that were willing to play to make up a team in any of the divisions,” said Shields.
