ROCKPORT — The board of directors at Mid-Coast Solid Waste Corp., the nonprofit organization that operates the four-town transfer station for Camden, Hope, Lincolnville and Rockport, is meeting this evening, July 5, at 5:30 p.m., to hopefully sign a contract with a new facility director, according to board chairman Owen Casas, of Rockport.

The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. and the board will then enter executive session to discuss the contract. The board will then exit executive session and possibly appoint its new director.

The board consists of the town managers, Casas, and representatives from the town’s select boards.

MCSW has been without a full-time director for several months following the departure of former director Jim Guerra. Casas said that MCSW and the Guerra had an amicable separation agreement.

Since then, Casas, the town managers and dedicated staff have been overseeing the operation on Union Street in Rockport.
