ROCKLAND — The 2019 - 2020 Metropolitan Opera’s Live-in-HD season of broadcasts from Lincoln Center to the Strand Theatre continues Saturday, Nov. 23, at 1 p.m., with a simulcast of a Met Premiere: Philip Glass’s Akhnaten. 

An Encore broadcast will be presented, Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 1 p.m.               

In this new production, countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo headlines American composer Philip Glass’s transcendent contemporary creation, with Karen Kamensek conducting.

“Phelim McDermott’s stunning production employs a virtuosic company of acrobats and jugglers to conjure a mystical re-imagining of ancient Egypt,” said Strand, in a news release.   

Estimated Run Time: three hours, 41 min, including two intermissions.
