Gardner John Fromer will lead an online webinar on how to prepare a garden for cut flowers, Tuesday, May 4, at 12 p.m., for Merryspring Nature Center.
In this talk Fromer will demystify the struggle to create a beautiful cut flower garden with tools and tricks to help gardeners succeed.
“A simple row of annuals and an elaborate mixed border have one thing in common,” says Fromer, in a Merryspring news release. “Somebody planned it all out.”
It is this planning that helps gardeners reach their goals for the type and quantity of cut flowers each season, according to Merryspring. The techniques that will be explained in this class are scalable from a small backyard vegetable garden all the way up to a royal estate.
Fromer has been a Maine Master Gardener since 1998 and runs Appleton Ridge Flower and Vegetable Farm with his wife, Kathy, also a Maine Master Gardener. Together they grow flowers, vegetables, and herbs in a sustainable and authentic fashion. Fromer currently serves on Merryspring’s board of trustees.
