CAMDEN — Merryspring Nature Center will host a summer tree identification walk as part of its Free Family Fridays series on Friday, July 29, at 10 a.m.

“Tree identification can seem daunting to newcomers,” said Merryspring, in a news release. “Thankfully, there are a few tips and tricks that anybody can understand to better identify Maine’s trees and shrubs.”

This walk for all ages will introduce beginners to identifying common backyard trees by both their leaves and bark.

This program is outdoors. Guests must wear weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy shoes, and be prepared to walk for one hour. In the event of rain, this program will be canceled.

Free Family Fridays will take place at Merryspring on select July and August Fridays, at 10 a.m., and are sponsored by Renys, A Maine Adventure.

Preregistration is necessary for this event, with limited space available. Guests may sign up by contacting Merryspring at 207-236-2239 or info@merryspring.org. Admission is free to all. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
