Merryspring to host online talk with a forest pathologist: Beech Leaf Disease Management

Forest Pathologist Aaron Bergdahl will lead an online presentation titled “Beech Leaf Disease Management” in a webinar hosted by Merryspring Nature Center on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 12 p.m.

A new disease of beech trees, beech leaf disease was found in Maine in 2021. Bergdahl, who works for the Maine Forest Service, will present the biology of it, discuss potential impacts of this new disease on Maine’s forests and overview current research on beech leaf disease management.

This program is part of the Winter Online Talk series at Merryspring, sponsored by Renys – A Maine Adventure, and co-sponsored by Allen Insurance & Financial and Camden Riverhouse Hotel.
