Kathleen Meil kicks off next campaign phase for Maine House District 94

    ROCKPORT — Kathleen Meil kicked off the next phase of her campaign for State Representative with a community picnic in Rockport Harbor July 23. Meil won a competitive Democratic primary in June and rallied supporters with a day of food, family fun, and community building.

    “I am so, so thrilled that we had such good candidates running in the primary and I continue to be grateful to both for the hard, hard work that went into the campaign,” said Rep. Joan Welsh in a statement read at the event. “It is now time to move forward into the next phase and assure that Kathleen will win the general election in November.”

    Meil was joined by State Senator Dave Miramant, D-Camden; Rep. Erin Herbig, D-Belfast; and Rep. Christine Burstein, D-Lincolnville., Dozens of local families and community leaders also joined the event.

    “The enthusiasm and energy of our community were definitely on display,” said Meil, in a news release. “Families and friends and people of all ages, enjoying delicious local food, jumping in the ocean, and talking about our shared vision for our future. Together, we’ll set a course for that future that matches our outstanding quality of life with outstanding economic opportunity.”
