Medomak 7th girls basketball earns season opening victory

WOOLWICH — The Medomak Middle School seventh grade girls basketball team hit the road Tuesday, Nov. 26 for its season opening contest against Woolwich. 

At the halftime break, Medomak held a 37-17 advantage courtesy a strong performance from its defense and a well-executed passing game. 

“They were looking up the floor and playing some really good team basketball,” said Medomak coach Andrea Williamson of her team. 

Though the hosts did its best to earn a come-from-behind victory, the visiting Riverhawks prevailed with a 57-40 win. 

Scoring for Medomak were Audrey Jackson (19 points), Kytana Williamson (17), Lilly Christ (six), Skylar Hills (four), Erica Waite (three), Sadie Knight (two), Emily Richards (two), Emma Haney (two) and Paige Mosher (two). 

Scoring for Woolwich were Haley Kirkpatrick (21 points), Edie Mclay (12), Hollis James (six) and Ava MacMahon (one). 

The Riverhawks will look to keep its winning streak alive Wednesday, Nov. 4 on the road against Oceanside in Thomaston.
