I am writing in support of Marc Ratner for County Commissioner District 3. His involvement  in our community, combined with his health care, law enforcement and business experience, and willingness to find solutions to challenging issues, makes him the best person for the job. 

Marc’s experience as an EMT and  his work with sheriff’s departments gave him a working appreciation for the importance of sharing resources, services and responsibilities across county and town lines.  Resources are finite, and Marc understands the need to be efficient, collaborative and effective. 

I also value Marc’s commitment to communication.  There is a lot of information out there and his statement that the county government needs to come to us, the citizens, with that information rather than expecting us to have to dig around and find it is both important and welcoming. 

His stand on the critical issue of housing is also impressive. I appreciate a candidate who doesn’t think he knows it all;  someone who understands the importance of finding out what’s worked in communities like ours, learns from their efforts,  and builds on those best practices.

For these reasons, among others, I will be voting for Marc Ratner for County Commissioner District 3.
