Make way for ducklings, Camden style

Camden resident Elyse Socker regularly walks downtown Camden, and sees a variety of seasonal changes, but today, May 24, it was all about ducks.

The movement of mother ducks and ducklings across Mechanic Street, in the vicinity of the Knox Mill, reflects an annual event, as the ducks on the downtown portion of Megunticook River find cozy spots to lay their eggs.

These ducklings followed their mother carefully toward the river, making it safely, reported Elyse. Now, their work is to find safe habitat along the river’s edge, watch for minks, and find a healthy food supply.
