The 14th annual Maine State Photography Show opens Saturday, April 6 at Boothbay Region Art Foundation in Boothbay Harbor. Gallery doors open at 11 a.m.
Juror Ron Rosenstock selected 105 images in four categories: color, B&W, the special category, “Infrared” this year; and student. In each category there are first, second and third place honors and three honorable mentions. Top honors, Best In Show, rounds out the awards ranging from $35 to $500 (for Best In Show).
MPS Committee member and show coordinator Bruce Burnham shared the names of locals in the show: Eva McDermott of Boothbay; Anne Copeland of Trevett; Julia Latter, Kayla Latter, Lois Glaser and Scott See of Boothbay Harbor; Steve Demeranville of East Boothbay; and two students, Shea Fritz of Boothbay Harbor and Sierra Murray of Boothbay.
After you’ve taken in the images downstairs, treat yourself to 27 images taken by MPS Committee member Norbert Leser. Travel to exotic locales including Cuba and Morocco, returning to the outstanding natural beauty of Maine.
