Maine Dept. of Transportation crafts 40-year long-range plan, seeks opinions

The Maine Department of Transportation is updating its 2018-2050 long range plan, the purpose of which is to document MaineDOT's vision for the future, as well as to provide guidance and insight on the necessary strategies to meet the state’s transportation goals in the midst of challenges over the next 20-30 years.

The DOT is asking for input in helping to make a valuable, relevant plan.

MaineDOT has identified eight key trends that are anticipated to impact transportation in the years ahead:

  • Labor Market/Industry
  • Global Trade/Freight Movement
  • Urbanization/Shifting Population
  • Tourism
  • Technology
  • Safety
  • Climate
