CAMDEN — Ron Harrell and Gary Gulezian, who together conducted multiple bird censuses at Belfast Bay, will speak at the Camden Public Library on Thursday, September 20 at 7 p.m.

This talk marks the start of the annual Midcoast Maine Audubon lecture series at the library. The series will continue on third Thursdays through the spring, with the exception of the month of December.

Ron and Gary will discuss the results of doing bird censuses of Belfast Bay during the months of September through April over a five year period.

The purpose of the censuses was to learn exactly which birds make use of the bay and the resources it provides. What is revealed are the patterns of occurrence of the species that spend their winters here, as well as the diversity of those species. Photos and information on many of your favorite water birds, including loons, grebes, ducks, and gulls, will be presented.

This program series is hosted by the Midcoast Maine Audubon.
