Event has passed

ROCKLAND — The Rockland Public Library and Friends of Rockland Public Library will hold the seventh annual community-centered "Love Your Library; Your Library Loves You" open house, Friday, Feb. 14, from 4:30 -7 p.m.

There is no charge for this fun-filled evening; hot food and soups, drinks, and desserts will be served.

Jazz duo Bill Barnes and Dave Briggs will provide music in the Reading Room. Local performer Steve Athearn will share his talents as roving juggler throughout the building during the celebratory evening. Local artist Susan Beebe will lead an art activity for kids.

There will also be information about some resources you might not know about, and much, much more.

“Our Valentine to the Community, this event is a favorite of staff, Friends, and attendees; whether you come every year, or this year’s Open House will be your first, you are in for a treat!” said the Library, in a news release.

Those with a Rockland Public Library card in good standing are encouraged to put their name in for door prizes (provided by Friends of Rockland Library), which will include an iPad and gift cards for local grocery stores and other businesses.

The Rockland Public Library is located at 80 Union Street.

This event is  free and open to the public.
