The Lincolnville Center General Store is buzzing with activity this holiday season. In the spirit of festivities and gatherings, the store is inviting the public to visit Saturday between 3 and 6 p.m. to partake in the store’s second annual holiday wine and cheese tasting.
The store makes an effort to have one tasting a month and this is one not to miss. Importer Chris Campbell and wine-maker Michelle D'aprix will be chatting and pouring and sharing stories.
Campbell has been working as an importer of fine wine since 2005, focusing on wines.
"I find at the end of smaller roads are what make me passionate about what I do,” he said, in a news release. “By going a little further, you get a little more. Beyond my friendships forged with the winemakers, I love my opportunities to get in front of the consumers, to hear what they think about what they are tasting and connect the dots with them about what makes wine taste good."
“I love making these wines,” said D’aprix, in the release. “I work in Bordeaux, where I get to make my flagship wine, Pentimento, at a little property on the Right Bank. Getting to drive down to Costières de Nîmes to make the Maz Caz wines is like going on vacation, even with the speeding tickets. The most fun is the Rosé because it happens so quickly.... it’s exciting and a bit of a nail biter; it finishes before the others so it’s the first wine we get to drink.”
