Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: Three arrests

Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a total of 220 calls between Oct. 9 and Oct. 16. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 13,557 calls for service.

Arrests

Michael A. Steben, 18, of Bristol was arrested Oct. 12 for Violating Condition of Release and Possession of Marijuana, on Bay Woods Road, Bristol by Detective Jared Mitkus.

Travis Dobson, 32, of Waldoboro was arrested Oct. 13 on warrant for Failure to Appear for a charge of Aggravated Criminal Mischief, at Northeast Correctional Center, St. Johnsbury, Vermont, by Detective Jared Mitkus and Detective Terry Michaud.

Anna M. Pinkham, 28, of Boothbay was arrested Oct. 14 for Operating under the Influence, on East Side Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Chase Bosse.

Accidents

On Oct. 9, an accident occurred on Rockland Road in Jefferson involving Dana J. Armstrong, 27, of Auburn. Mr. Armstrong was operating his 2015 Dodge Ram westbound when he drifted off the roadway, entered the westbound ditch and struck a telephone pole. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.

On Oct. 9, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Douglas A. Kerr, 50, of Bordentown, New Jersey. Mr. Kerr was operating his 2016 Honda Pilot northbound when a deer entered the roadway from the left side and was struck. Deputy Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.

On Oct. 11, an accident occurred on Back River Road in Boothbay involving Sarah E. Giles, 73, of Boothbay Harbor and Sidney W. Price, 87, of Boothbay Harbor. Ms. Giles was backing her 2011 Chevrolet Equinox out of a driveway and Mr. Price was operating his 2008 Honda Ridgeliner southbound on Back River Road when Giles backed out in front of Price’s vehicle. As a result, Price was unable to stop and hit Giles’ vehicle. Reserve Deputy Michael Elwell was the investigating officer.

On Oct. 11, an accident occurred on Bunker Hill Road in Jefferson involving Clay P. Worthley, 22, of Jefferson and Kyle A. Huffman, 24, of Ellsworth.  Mr. Huffman was backing his 2015 Ford truck out of Cleaves Road onto Bunker Hill Road to travel northbound. Mr. Worthley was operating his 1999 Dodge 3500 northbound and cresting a hill, when he was unable to stop in time and struck Huffman’s vehicle in the rear. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On Oct. 13, an accident occurred on Upper East Pond Road in Nobleboro involving Barbara A. Lane, 30, of Newcastle and Terrence W. Spear, 54, of Nobleboro. Ms. Lane was operating her 2017 Nissan Altima northbound when Mr. Spear’s 2005 GMC 2500 came into her travel lane, crossing the centerline. Spear was operating his vehicle southbound when he tried to turn into a driveway and struck Lane’s vehicle on the driver’s side front/back door. Lane swerved to try to avoid Spear’s vehicle, causing her to hit a mailbox. Deputy Alonzo Connor was the investigating officer.

On Oct. 14, an accident occurred on Augusta Road in Jefferson involving Craig E. Prior, 65, of Bremen and Johnathan D. Rolerson, 19, of Waldoboro. Mr. Rolerson was operating his 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound when he stopped to make a left hand turn and Mr. Prior rear-ended his vehicle with his 2002 Pontiac. Deputy Alonzo Connor was the investigating officer.

On Oct. 14, an accident occurred on East River Road in Whitefield involving Glen R. Denver, 56, of Waldoboro. Mr. Denver was operating his 2012 Volkswagen Jetta northbound when he went off the roadway on the right side and sideswiped a telephone pole, causing the side air bags to deploy. However, he was able to maintain control of his vehicle, get back onto the roadway, and safely stop the vehicle. Reserve Deputy Neil Genthner was the investigating officer.

On Oct. 15, an accident occurred on Main Road on Westport Island involving Michael J. Averill, 34, of Alna. Mr. Averill was operating his 2015 Ford F350 southbound when a deer ran out into the roadway and struck the front of his vehicle. Deputy Ryan Chubbuck was the investigating officer.

On Oct. 15, an accident occurred on Alna Road in Alna involving Katherine Downing, 67, of Alna. Ms. Downing was operating her 2007 Subaru Forester southbound when a deer ran into the roadway and struck her vehicle. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
