Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: Four arrests

Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 259 calls for service between April 9 and April 16. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 4,819 calls for service.

Arrests

Curtis H. Moody, 50, of Jefferson was arrested April 11 on a Lincoln County District Court warrant for Criminal Mischief, on Rockland Road, Jefferson, by Deputy David Bellows.

Aaron W. Ashton, 37, of Alna was arrested April 12 for Domestic Violence Criminal Threatening and Violating Condition of Release, on Cross Road, Alna, by Sgt. Mark Bridgham.

Donald W. Hanson, 38, of Thomaston was arrested April 12 on a Hancock County District Court warrant for Violation of Bail, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Deputy David Bellows.

Travis Sapp, 27, of Jefferson was arrested April 15 for Operating under the Influence, on Bristol Road, Bristol, by Deputy Alonzo Connor.

Accidents

On April 9, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Dresden involving Frances M. Reinstein, 80, of Woolwich. Ms. Reinstein was operating her 2010 Subaru Forester southbound and due to the road conditions, she lost control of her vehicle and went off the road into the northbound ditch and rolled her vehicle over. Deputy Ryan Chubbuck was the investigating officer.

On April 9, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Dresden involving Dorothy P. Smiley, 56, of Dresden. Ms. Smiley was operating her 2009 Toyota Corolla northbound when a deer crossed the road in front of her vehicle and was struck. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.

On April 12, an accident occurred on State Route 129 in South Bristol involving Amy E. Simmons, 48, of Nobleboro. Ms. Simmons was operating her 2016 Jeep Tribute northbound when a deer entered the roadway from the left side and was struck.  Deputy Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.

On April 12, an accident occurred on US Route 1 in Nobleboro involving Betsy C. Terrell, 66, of Newcastle. Ms. Terrell was operating her 2007 Honda Fit northbound when a deer entered the roadway from the left side and was struck. Deputy Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.

On April 14, an accident occurred on N. Hunts Meadow Road in Whitefield involving Jeffrey M. Pope, 38, of Whitefield. Mr. Pope was operating his 2003 Honda 230 dirt bike northbound when he attempted a sudden right turn onto the soft shoulder. As a result, the front wheel stuck into the dirt causing the handlebars to rotate 90 degrees, throwing Mr. Pope over the bike and into a yard. Sgt. Mark Bridgham was the investigating officer.

On April 15, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Audrey B. Villecco, 70, of Southport, Connecticut. Ms. Villecco was operating her 2018 Nissan Rogue southbound and rounding a slight curve in the roadway. Ms. Villecco observed an equipment trailer and truck parked in the southbound breakdown lane and started to go around them, when she observed another vehicle in the northbound travel lane. As a result, she went off the roadway on the left side and struck a school traffic sign and pole. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
