Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: Accidents galore
Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a total of 281 calls from Jan. 3 through Jan. 9, and year to date, LCSO has responded to 383 calls.
On Jan. 4, Matthew Blodgett, 37, of Pittston was issued a summons for Endangering the Welfare of a Child, on Wiscasset Road, Whitefield, by Deputy Kevin Dennison.
On Jan. 6, Salum O. Salum, 32, of Bristol was issued summonses for Failing to Make Oral or Written Accident Report and Driving to Endanger, on Foster Road, Bristol, by Deputy Chase Bosse.
On Jan. 8, a 15-year-old male juvenile from Searsmont was issued a summons for Criminal Mischief for an incident which occurred in Wiscasset, by Detective Jared Mitkus. The summons was forwarded to Waldo County for service.
On Jan. 3, Philip D. Kelley, Jr., 38, of Bremen was arrested on several outstanding Lincoln County warrants, on Diniston Road, Bremen, by Deputy Jonathan Colby.
On Jan. 6, Adam M. Peaslee, 26, of Dresden was arrested for Refusing to Submit to Arrest or Detention, by Deputy Jonathan Colby, who was assisted by Sgt. Aaron Beck.
On Jan. 7, Timothy Simmons, 54, of Warren was arrested for Eluding an Officer; Failure to Notify Owner of PD Accident and Operating Snowmobile under Influence, on US Route 1, Newcastle, by Reserve Deputy Dwight Fowles, who was assisted by Deputy Ryan Chubbuck and Wiscasset Sgt. Craig Worster.
On Jan. 3, an accident occurred on River Road in Dresden involving Tamera J. Eads, 38, of Bowdoin. Ms. Eads was operating her 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee westbound rounding a curve, when due to icy road conditions, she lost traction and started to skid. She then over corrected and spun around, crossed the center line and went over a snowbank located on the east side of the road. Her vehicle then rolled down a steep embankment before coming to rest on its wheel. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 3, an accident occurred on Townhouse Road in Whitefield involving Lynn E. Glidden, 50, of Whitefield and Stephanie King, 29, of Whitefield. Ms. King was operating her 2015 GMC Sierra northbound and Ms. Glidden was operating her 2016 Subaru southbound when King crossed the center line and struck the driver’s side of Glidden’s vehicle. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 3, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road, in Dresden, at the Dresden Pizza and Takeout involving John R. Barry, 66, of Randolph and Kathy M. Dubord, 54, of Dresden. Mr. Barry was backing his 2014 Mack truck into a very tight spot in a work zone to pick up dirt and Ms. Dubord had parked her 2015 Ford Fusion in front of the store. Barry, while backing up struck the rear of Dubord’s vehicle with the passenger side front wheel. Sgt. Alan Shea was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 3, an accident occurred on Bath Road in Wiscasset involving William P. Flynn, 43, of Newcastle and Pamela J. Perry, 58, of Bath. Mr. Flynn was pulling his 2015 Chevrolet 1500 into a parking spot next to Ms. Perry’s 2013 Subaru Legacy. Flynn misjudged and struck Perry’s vehicle. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 3, an accident occurred on Main Road on Westport Island involving Doris D. Baker, 62, of Westport Island. Ms. Baker was operating her 2003 Toyota Highlander northbound when she lost control and entered the northbound ditch and hit several small trees. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 5, an accident occurred on Snowball Hill Road in Bristol involving Lewis J. Morton, 74, of Bristol and James P. Miner, 63, of New Harbor. Mr. Morton was plowing a driveway in his 2006 Chevrolet 1500 when he backed out into traffic and stuck Mr. Miner’s 2006 Chrysler Town and Country, who was traveling eastbound. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 5, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving James Arthur, 30, of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Mr. Arthur was operating his 1997 Ford Explorer northbound when due to the snow covered road surface, he lost control of his vehicle, spun out and rolled over before coming to rest on its passenger side in the southbound lane. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 5, an accident occurred on East Pond Road in Nobleboro involving Thomas A. Stevens, 63, of Newcastle. Mr. Stevens was operating his 2013 GMC southbound when an unknown vehicle who was operating in the opposite lane crossed the center line. As a result, Stevens’ vehicle went off the roadway on the right and over the embankment and struck a tree. Deputy Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 5, an accident occurred on Foster Road in Bristol involving Salum O. Salum, 32, of Round Pond. Mr. Salum was operating his 2013 Honda Civic eastbound when he drove around a bend in the road too fast for the road conditions. As a result, his vehicle exited the roadway on the right side, struck a mailbox and came to final rest in the ditch on the right side. Deputy Chase Bosse was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 6, an accident occurred on Middle Road in Dresden involving Cameron K. Michaud, 17, of Gardiner. Mr. Michaud was operating his 2003 Toyota Tacoma southbound when he lost control of his vehicle due to driving too fast for the road conditions. When attempting to regain control, he over corrected and left the roadway on the right side. As he left the road, the vehicle made contact with a snowbank, which caused it to roll over and come to rest up against a small tree. Reserve Deputy Neil Genthner was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 8, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Scott G. Merrithew, 57, of Burnham and Daren L. Graves, 68, of Boothbay Harbor. Mr. Merrithew was backing his 2011 Chevrolet 1500 out of a parking spot at T & D Variety. Merrithew stated he saw Mr. Graves pull in and go past him to the rear of the store by the gas pumps and he continued backing out and then began to go forward to leave the parking lot when he was struck in the rear by Graves’ 2004 Ford F250, who was backing up. Graves stated he didn’t see Merrithew’s vehicle. Sgt. Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 8, an accident occurred on Jones Woods Road in Newcastle involving Anna M. Hatch, 18, of Nobleboro. Ms. Hatch was operating her 2007 Ford Fusion westbound when due to the snow covered roadway, she lost control of her vehicle and went off the roadway on the right side and struck a tree. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
