Lincoln Academy field hockey slips past Oceanside

NEWCASTLE — The Oceanside field hockey team hit the road to challenge Lincoln Academy Tuesday, Sept. 18 and returned home with a 2-1 loss. 

With the loss, Oceanside dropped to 1-5 on the season. 

The next game for the Mariners will be Thursday, Sept. 20 on the road against Maine Central Institute at 4 p.m.

Lincoln Academy got on the board first with a Taryn Crummet goal at 10:38. 

Oceanside answered back to tie the game when Erin Stevenson found the net at 9:43 mark. 

The game was decided at 3:51 on a penalty stroke by Crummet after Oceanside goalie Alexa Barstow covered the ball. 

Oceanside and Lincoln Academy both had three corners, while Lincoln Academy had 13 shots and Oceanside had three. 

Barstow had 11 saves for Oceanside, while Lincoln Academy had two saves.
