The 20th anniversary of September 11th is a time of reflection. Join like-minded patriots on Saturday, September 11, 2021, in honoring those who have served and those who have given the ultimate price for America’s freedom, liberty, and unity.
Due to increased interest, people from the southern end of Maine can now drive in the Liberty, Freedom and Unity Road Rally on September 11. Vehicles will gather at Mt. Ararat High School, in Topsham, from 11:30 a.m.- 12 p.m. They will then travel to Togus VA Hospital to meet up with the northern contingent traveling from Brewer and through Liberty, Freedom and Unity.
The patriotic road rally, coordinated by the Swinging Gate organization, has the northern route starting on Liberty Drive, in Brewer, at 8 a.m., where cars, trucks, motorcycles will gather and decorate their vehicles with flags and signage. At 9 a.m., the motorcade will then travel to the Maine towns of Liberty (10:45 a.m.), Freedom (11:15 a.m.) and Unity (11:45 a.m.) where there will be a brief stop at each site to hear an inspirational speaker on the topics of liberty, freedom and unity.
The Road Rally continues to Augusta for a solemn drive-through flag wave at Togas VA Hospital (1 p.m.) to honor veterans, and culminates on the steps of the Maine State House where a bevy of national, state and local speakers (2 - 4 p.m.) will conclude a day of appreciation and celebration of “the best country the world has ever seen,” according to Swinging Gate, in a news release.
“Participants are invited to any or all of the sites and to share their thoughts on our freedoms, our liberty and show that we are united,” said Swinging Gate. “It’s time to stand up for America!”
