LeForest ‘Lee’ E. Dodge, Jr., obituary

ROCKPORT — LeForest Earl Dodge, Jr., 75, husband of Marlene (Wentworth) Dodge, died on February 17, 2021 at Pen Bay Medical Center after a long illness.

Born in Camden on November 2, 1945, he was the son of LeForest E. Dodge, Sr. and Virginia (Hills) Dodge and was a 1964 graduate of Camden High School. Lee served in the U.S. Army in Viet Nam from 1964 to 1967 and married Marlene Wentworth in Rockport on September 13, 1969. After receiving his Associates’ Degree at Husson College in Bangor, he was employed at FMC in Rockland for 42 years.

Lee was a 42 member of the Camden American Legion Post #30 and 46 year member of the Rockland Elks Lodge. His hobbies included snowmobiling, riding his motor cycle, and travelling in their RV. Lee and Marlene spent several winters in Texas and had lived in Dover Foxcroft for a few years before moving back to Rockport.

His passion was music, writing songs, singing and playing his guitar, harmonica and the keyboard. Lee loved playing music and received several awards for his talent.

Surviving is his wife of 51 years, Marlene Dodge; son, Todd E. Dodge of Dover Foxcroft; daughter, Angela Dodge; three grandchildren, Kat Gother, Josh Dodge, Robert Gieseman; and two great-grandchildren, Akira Gother and Kyara Gother; and a brother, Steve Dodge, of New Hampshire.

A graveside service at the Mountain View Cemetery in Camden will be announced at a later date. If desired, memorial gifts may be made to the American Legion Post #30, P.O. Box 187, Camden, ME 04843.
