Leavitt field hockey blanks Oceanside

ROCKLAND — The Oceanside varsity field hockey team fell on Thursday, Sept. 13 at home against Leavitt. 

With the 2-0 loss, the Mariners fall to 1-3 on the season and turn their attention to a Saturday, Sept. 15 home match against Maranacook at 10 a.m.

Netting the two goals for Leavitt was Kayla Leclerc, who scored both goals on corners. The first came at the three minute mark in the first half while the second came at the 24:53 mark in the second half. 

Leavitt recorded five shots compared to Oceanside’s zero, while Leavitt recorded 17 corners compared to Oceanside’s four. 

Mallory Casey had four saves in the net for Leavitt, while Alexa Barstow recorded two for Oceanside. 

Laura Boutin had a defensive save for the Mariners.
