Lawrence hands Medomak Valley girls basketball first home defeat

WALDOBORO — The Lawrence varsity girls basketball team was welcomed to Waldoboro for a varsity girls basketball game against Medomak Valley and exited the area with a 69-51 victory over the host Panthers. 

With the loss, the Panthers’ record dropped to 7-3 on the season as Medomak Valley suffered its first defeat at home this season. 

Up next for the Panthers will be a road contest against Morse in Bath on Thursday, Jan. 17 at 6:30 p.m.

In the Saturday showdown, Lawrence held quarterly advantages of 17-14, 35-29 and 54-37. 

Scoring for Medomak Valley were Autumn Ripley (two points), Aubrey Schaeffer (nine points), Abby Lash (12 points), Maddy White (one), Kayla Donlin (eight), Sadie Cohen (15) and Lydia Simmons (four). 

Scoring for Lawrence were Megan Curtis (10 points), Savannah Weston (15), Brooklynn Lambert (nine), Miranda Lambert (three), Keagan Alley (13) and Hannah Dow (19).
