FAIRFIELD — The Oceanside varsity field hockey team hit the road Tuesday, Sept. 10 to challenge Lawrence in Fairfield. 

In the game, a pair of goals from a pair of Lawrence players shutout the visiting Mariners 4-0. 

With the loss, Oceanside fell to 0-2 on the season. 

Lexis Lewis opened the scoring for the hosts on a corner at the 24:13 mark in the first. 

Lewis scored her second goal only minutes later at the 16:48 mark. 

Elsie Sultie scored the team’s third goal at the 11:21 mark courtesy a Lewis assist. 

Sultie scored her second goal of the game at the 7:54 mark and was assisted by Haylei Niles on a corner. 

Oceanside recorded five corners, while Lawrence recorded 21. 

Oceanside recorded 10 shots, while Lawrence recorded 17. 

Oceanside goalkeeper Alexa Barstow recorded 13 saves, while Emma Poulin recorded 10 for Lawrence. 

The next match for Oceanside will be Thursday, Sept. 12 on the road against Winslow at 4 p.m.
